UBOX
Overview
UBOX is a concept product designed to help microbusinesses save money on shipping. Users scan and upload the silhouette of their product with our app, which designs a custom box blueprint for shipping. After connecting the app to the UBOX projector, the user can project the blueprint onto new or repurposed cardboard. The included cutting tools enable users to cut out the box, giving them an affordable custom box for their unique product.

The Problem
Microbusinesses often spend unnecessary money on shipping costs.
The Requirements
Design a solution that gives microbusinesses the option to reuse cardboard, and create a custom box for the products they are shipping, minimizing wasted materials and package size for shipping.
Projector
Upon connecting the the UBOX app, the projector casts the custom box template along with a calibration check onto the box material to be cut. The included tools can be stored in the base of the projector.
Straightedge
The 12 inch straightedge was designed to fold into 3 inches long by 1 inch wide in order to be stored in the base of the projector body.
Box Cutter
The box cutter folds into itself similarly to a folding knife in order to be stored next to the straightedge in the base of the projector body. The handle shape and angled grip is designed to fit comfortably in the hand and provide the best cutting angle at a neutral wrist angle.
